1. Written by Reader of fine print on May 17, 2011 from moretown, vermont, US I ordered from direct ecig and had no problem finding the terms and conditions. It is stated very clearly if you take the time to look and read. It really wasn't very hard. People should know by now to ALWAYS read the fine print, and if you can't find the fine print then simply DO NOT order. I found the customer service reps to be very nice and polite. By the way I don not work for this company at all, I am just a satisfied user.

3. Written by Mark on April 30, 2011 from jacksonville, florida, US I agree this is totally nothing but a scam
4. Written by Sue on March 24, 2011 from new orleans, louisiana, US I got scammed also. Didn't get anywhere with the rude girl that I spoke to from ECig. I just filed a complaint for unauthorized charge on my credit card. My credit card company took it off my bill.
5. Written by KMaggi3 on March 16, 2011 from live oak, florida, US The same thing just happened to me. I got my free sample a couple of weeks ago. Today, I get an email that my "order has been shipped"-- I check my bank account and sure enough, I was charged $109!! BTW, if you attempt to contact customer service online, you'll find that you CAN'T type anything on that page! I tried going back to the "Limited Time Offer for a Free Trial" page to re-read it but it's GONE and I didn't see anything about being charged more anywhere on that page. (Believe me, I always read and reread everything before entering my cc#!) After waiting on hold for an HOUR long distance, I finally spoke with someone who stated I should've notified them 2 days ago. NO REFUND, NO RETURNS... "This was our gift to you." (Monique) Wish I'd seen this website's complaints first. BUYERS BEWARE! I've filed a complaint with the BBB. I suggest you do the same. Class action law-suit? Count me in!
6. Written by Deb on March 12, 2011 from brooklyn, new york, US al, yes they will be able to debit your card again. Its best to cancel your debit card and have your bank issue you a new one. That's what I had to do. I contacted the BBB and the Fla attorney general called me a few days later. I also heard there is a possible class action lawsuit. I want in on that! The BBB rating for directecig.com is an F, the lowest score. I urge everyone to file a complaint with the BBB, the federal trade commission and the Fla attorney general. Defnintely a scam!. How can you have terms and conditions in black font on a black background?

I called them again and again, the girl was so rude, that she hanged up the phone on me, not only that, I asked for my money back, not for the shipping and handling but for the ''purchase of 99.90 they refuse to give it to me, they are such of scams, someone must be able to stop this thiefts that the only thing that they do is to steal peoples money, any suggestions, I'm open to listen, thanks, Adam |
9. Written by Someone on March 7, 2011 from east moline, illinois, US I used to work for them. While it really isn't a scam, there is fine print to be read that is on the checkout page from where you order. It is on every single (special offer) page, without a doubt and has to be because of legal repercussions if it isn't. It starts 14 days from the date that you order, you can try the product, and if not satisfied, call in within your 14day trial period and ask to cancel your trial. With this this cancellation you will avoid any charges. They don't pay to ship it back, but its just a couple dollars to send it. If you place your order and do not want to go ahead with it, you can cancel it BEFORE it ships, no questions asked. If you feel you need more time to evaluate, just ask them, they will extend it (if you are nice about it). The charge of 109.90 is the cost of the kit itself, as you can see on the retail website directecig.com. That site is not where you ordered your free trial, hence you will not find the special offer or its terms there. You are enrolled in a monthly program at $70 a pop, which you can cancel at anytime as well. While I wish they would be more upfront in their trial details, I can't make them do anything. The majority of customers who do read the terms love the product and they (directecig) are very good to them. Free parts, carts, atomizers abound. Unfortunately, nothing much can be done about the $109.90 charge, because they are within their legal right, that is, the terms are written on the page. It is you as a buyer to always read and look for the terms on any website you buy from, which, as a general rule, are always at the bottom of the page. If you are buying something and can't find the terms, call them up. If they don't tell you(which they have to by law) or seem to beat around the bush, don't buy the product. Direct ecig verifies as many orders as possible, instructing each person they talk to the terms and conditions about the offer. Customers generally seem to like/love the product, they stand true to their warranties, and do strive to provide great support to those who are not abusive over the phone (and let me tell you, it may not have been any of you but, you will not get anywhere by putting down a representative, screaming, cursing, etc) Just Buyer Beware always. Knowledge is power, take the time read/find the terms and protect yourself. And, as always, when it seems to good to be true, there is always fine print.
10. Written by Clair on March 5, 2011 from irvine, california, US This sucks. I got scammed too and just got charged $109. I was cautious when I ordered it and can swear there was no link to the terms and conditions on the ordering page. It's only after going back to the home page that you can find a tiny link at the bottom of the page to see the terms and conditions. Has any one filed a report to the consumer bureau for false advertising? That's my next step. good luck everyone!
